Power restored to Te Puna properties

Power had been out in Te Puna all night.

UPDATE 6.57AM: Power is reported to be back in Te Puna this morning.

A SunLive reader has emailed in to report it power is back on at her property after being off all night.

Powerco is also reporting that the outage has been resolved.

"A total of 393 Te Puna customers lost power just after 11pm last night after a vehicle collided with a power pole," says a Powerco spokesperson.

"Power was progressively restored to customers during the night, with all customers’ power back on by 6.55am today."

According to the Powerco website, one property has been affected and a site investigation is underway into the cause of the outage.

EARLIER:

Power remains out for hundreds of properties in Te Puna.

A SunLive reader reports that power went out in the area around 10.50pm on Thursday and remains out at 6.30am today.

According to the Powerco website, 226 properties are affected by the outage.

A site investigation is underway into the cause of the power cut.

Powerco had estimated to have power back on around 3am today, however, both the power company's website and residents in the area report this is not the cause.
