Emergency water shutdown in Te Puna

Normal water services are expected to resume around 11.45pm.

An emergency water shutdown is underway affecting parts of Te Puna.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council says contractors are working to fix the issue and the water is estimated to be restored around 11.45pm.

"After the water has been restored, it may have a cloudy appearance (tiny air bubbles), however, the water is safe to drink.

"Council apologises for any inconvenience this unplanned outage has caused. We are available 24/7 on 0800 926 732."
