Slip repair work continues today in Welcome Bay, with delays in traffic expected for commuters.
Finishing touches to slip repair work on Welcome Bay Road, between James Cook Drive and Waitaha Road, is planned to be completed between 9am and 4pm, today.
This work is weather dependent, says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson. A road detour will be in place for vehicles heading into the city via Waitaha Road and James Cook Drive.
Vehicles heading to Welcome Bay from the city will not be affected as the lane will be open to traffic.
Cyclists on Welcome Bay Road heading into the city can either dismount and use the footpath along Welcome Bay Road or alternatively use the detour route via Waitaha Road and James Cook Drive.
Resident access will be maintained. "We apologise for any inconvenience and thank the community for its cooperation," says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.
