The Smoke Free Rockquest finalists are being announced – and a Tauranga group is among the top 10.

Unit 51 from Tauranga Boys’ College is heading to the finals, and has been selected as one of the “standout acts” who performed their original material at regional live events.

A Rockquest spokesperson says the winning acts from each region submitted videos for the Top 30 selection, which were then reviewed and evaluated by a panel of industry professionals.

“From the Top 30, a fresh panel of industry heavyweight then re-judged the acts to determine the ultimate Top 10.”

The Top 10 National Finalists will earn the prestigious opportunity to perform at the Smokefreerockquest National Final, to be held at the renowned Q Theatre in Auckland on Saturday, September 16.

In addition to this incredible performance opportunity, the finalists will receive invaluable mentoring from industry professionals, helping them refine their skills in performance, marketing, and media.
