Jazz at the Mount is one of this year's popular events on the Port of Tauranga 60th National Jazz Festival's calendar, drawing hundreds to the relaxed atmosphere along Mount Mainstreet.
A great way to round off this year's festival, Jazz at the Mount was kept simple and straightforward with one stage set up at Papa O Ngā Manu Porotakataka Park and the morning's jazz entertainment embellished with a vintage car parade along the main street of the town.
Free entry with plenty of surrounding cafes and shops provided a chilled-back vibe.
"It was awesome," says a SunLive reader. "I went to the downtown Tauranga festival on Sunday, and then Jazz at the Mount on Monday, and I enjoyed the Mount event more, because it was just so low key and relaxed.
"It's great just having one stage, people sitting back and enjoying the jazz."
Running from 9.30am, Jazz at the Mount included a line of vintage and collectible cars rolling past along Mount Mainstreet at 11am.
Members of the Tauranga Mini Owners Club brought out plenty of smiles from the crowd with their line of minis.
"The street probably should have been closed off while the parade was on, as it was quite funny to see a couple of other cars like a BMW caught up in the parade too."
The car parade which started north of the town rolled along Maunganui Road, ending up at Coronation Park, where the cars were on display until 1pm.
The weather stayed fine for much of the afternoon, enabling a day of great music right in the heart of Mount Maunganui's main shopping area.
