SH2 Paengaroa to Tauranga reopens after truck roll

UPDATE 4.49pm: The northbound lane to Tauranga near the Paengaroa roundabout is now reopen, after a truck rolled in the area earlier this afternoon.

Cranes and an recover truck were used, according to a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

"The road is now reopen," says a police spokesperson.

Earlier 3.09pm: The northbound lane to Tauranga near the Paengaroa roundabout will be closed to traffic for "an expected one hour" after a truck rolled on the road earlier this afternoon.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says "cranes and a recover truck" will be used to right the truck which overturned in the "roundabout entering Tauranga Eastern Link".

Traffic bound northwest will be required to use Te Puke Highway and transit Te Puke as the Tauranga Eastern Link northbound will be closed, according to the spokesperson.

Earlier 1pm: A rolled truck is blocking State Highway 2, Paengaroa to Tauranga in the northbound lane.

"Expect delays," says a Waka Kotahi spokesperson.

"Pass the scene with care."
