Coromandel peninsula: thousands without power

PowerCo is reporting power cuts to thousands of properties across the Coromandel peninsula on Sunday evening.

There is a power outage affecting 4271 properties in Hikuai, Pauanui. The power went out at 8.52pm. A site investigation is underway and the estimated restoration time is not yet known.

There are 498 properties in Whitianga affected by a power cut which occurred at 6.06pm due to strong wiind. The estimated time of restoration is not yet known.

At Cooks Beach 672 properties are without power. The outage occurred at 6.25pm and a site investigation is underway. The estimated time of restoration of power is not yet known.

Manaia in the Coromandel has 129 properties affected by a power cut which occurred at 4.20pm. A site investigation is underway and the estimated time of restoration is not yet known.

Waikawau in Coromandel has 183 properties affected by a power cut which occurred at 4.11pm. A site investigation is underway and the estimated time of restoration is not yet known.

Port Charles has 141 properties without power. The outage occurred at 2.25pm. A site investigation is underway and the estimated time of restoration is not yet known.

Strong winds are the cause behind a power cut affecting 600 properties in Tairua. This outage occurred at 6.23pm and the estimated restoration time is not yet known.

Paeroa has a power cut affecting 566 properties. The outage occurred at 8.36pm. A site investigation is underway. An earlier power cut in Paeroa at 5.25pm was due to strong wind and is affecting 65 properties. The estimated restoration time for both sites is not yet known.

There are 49 properties without power in Thames. This power cut occurred at 6.57pm due to strong wind. The estimated restoration time is not yet known.

Strong winds also are the cause of a power outage affecting 105 properties in Paeroa. The power cut occurred at 6.36pm and the estimated time of restoration is not yet known.

In Ngatea 498 properties had a power cut at 6.06pm due to strong wind. The estimated restoration time is not yet known.
