State Highway 2, Karangahake Gorge between Paeroa and Waihi is open to one lane following a slip.
This comes as a video of a fresh slip coming down on to the road was shared to Facebook earlier this afternoon.
"The road is open to one lane under stop/go traffic management," says a Waka Kotahi spokesperson.
"Drive with caution."
For traffic heading south, Waka Kotahi recommends using SH27 and SH29 via the Kaimai Range. Traffic heading north is recommended to use SH25 Coromandel.
"Please note, due to adverse weather conditions, motorists are advised to consider delaying their journey if possible."
