Tauranga's One Love festival is returning Saturday and Sunday. The event will bring almost 20,000 people to Tauranga Domain each day.

Noise
The One Love Festival may be heard beyond the venue and for this reason the hours of operation are restricted.
A Noise Management Plan has been submitted and approved as part of the resource consent process, says council.
A robust monitoring process has been put in place to monitor noise levels and times of operating throughout the event.
One Love Festival's consent permits amplified noise during the following times:
Sound checks between 4pm – 6pm on Friday and between 9am –11am on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday: 12noon – 10.30pm
Sunday: 12noon – 10pm
More information on festival operations can be found at Tauranga.govt.nz/onelove.

Noise Control always say nobody else has complained and tell you to ring back in 1 hour. So I find it’s best to put the complaint early, say 8.30. They will tell you ring back in 1 hour, so you should, at 9.30. Then by the time they’ve dispatched a numpty in hi vis it will be about 10 o’clock. Job done. Weather forecast looks good.
Sorry about the noise

... the early days when this concert was rattling windows 5 KM away and was intrusive at Oropi. Recently has been much better with decibels being monitored and a willingness by the organizers to be reasonable. I hope they have a great festival, but be aware they are in an area where people live. I agree with others that this festival should not be in the Domain, but we must "revive" the downtown area and it is about starving businesses. I usuall leave town when its on (sad, isn't it?) but last year I stayed and it was pretty good really, so I'll try again this year...
