As part of plans to transform the waterfront in Tauranga's city centre, the Dive Crescent off-street car park is temporarily closed.
The car park will remain closed until Saturday, April 1, while the upgrade of the parking and amenity in the area takes place.
Tauranga City Council say during this time, the nearby parking on Cliff Road and The Strand will remain open and available for use.

"The site will ultimately see New Zealand's largest mass timber office building constructed, and once built, the premises will be home to all of Tauranga City Council's administration staff."

Development of the Down Town water front is something Tauranga could have done with years ago. It is good to see that happening now FOR ALL TO ENJOY. And on the subject of all to enjoy, On Saturday just gone I planned to go to the Mount pool followed by a walk around the beaches. I drove down through the town towards the pool only to find the entire street blocked off. A number of cars were turning round at the closed barrier. Didn't matter weher I tried to get through the roads were closed. Only one thing for it. Go back home. Ridiculous. Streets and beaches closed for a small segment of the population . Many people were affected, How selfish. Tauranga main street is empty. Why couldn't they use that instead of the entire Mount.
Come on

Look this is great news. But why is Oceans attacking the amazing Mount Festival team and event. One of the biggest multisport events in NZ. Brings National and International headlines for Tauranga and the mount. On top of the massive dollars that it brings into the town. And I was there. Main Street was pumping.
