'The Labour Party caucus will meet at 1pm on Sunday to endorse the nomination and confirm Chris Hipkins as Party Leader,” says Webb.

Nominations for candidates for leader closed at 9am on Saturday morning.

Hipkins has been the Covid-19 Response Minister and is the Minister of Police and Minister of Education.

Jacinda Ardern announced on Thursday she will step down as Prime Minister and Leader of the Labour Party. Her last day will be Tuesday, February 7.

Her resignation will take effect on the appointment of a new Prime Minister.

You will be handed the worst mess in NZ history, your welcome says JA as she lie on the beach after flying on a private jet. She will then tweet how hard life is and the climate is our biggest concern.

He might be the best choice. But, when you're surrounded by people that have few talents, it's not too difficult to appear capable. I wonder if both Caucases are in full agreement though.

A choice of one?

They have a chance to reverse some of the disastrous policies that they have been pursuing but I doubt that they will. New PM, but same old 3 Waters, co-governance, separate development for Health, Law, and Education, as outlined by the He Puapua report, and the same weak platform for Law & Order. I guess we should be thankful that Nania and Willie had enough sense not to present themselves; I supect they will be biding their time... I'm glad Jacinda's gone; not in any spiteful way, but because I think it is right for her and right for us.

......I totally agree with your sentiment, but I do have to wonder what the circling Hyenas (from the 'Lion King' aka the huge Maori caucus) really have in mind, I would bet there are plans afoot that the wider Labour party itself does not know about, until the unsuspecting Mr Hipkins tries to correct at least some of the poor, divisive and just plain wrong policies before the upcoming election....watch this space folks, I think there may well be 'self destruction' about to happen.....
