For once I agree with Mr. Izett. There is no point in swearing on the Bible in court if you don't believe in it and intend to lie anyway.
However, instead of complaining about the people who lie, he goes on to say the Bible is at fault.
If people read the Bible and sincerely live by it, they will not lie, steal, murder, commit adultery or any evil. What a wonderful world that would be Mr.Izett. We wouldn't need courts any more and you wouldn't get upset about people swearing on the Bible.
How about a positive letter to improve society instead of knocking something good.

I agree with the letter regarding the use of the bible when swearing under oath. It's a book full of lies and falsehoods and has been altered and misrepresents what was actually said. Since this was handed down word of mouth, it's really a chinese whisper. Not what happened at all in the day. Religion is here to put fear of a god into us. Wake up people!
