Uffindell talks “tough” investigation period

Tauranga MP Sam Uffindell says the support from his family, friends and local electorate is ultimately what helped him through a "tough" period after being elected.

Speaking to the Buzzworthy 'Future Buzz' podcast, Uffindell talks about his "intense" first year in politics, claims of hypocrisy in regards to youth crime, and the investigation into reports of bullying shortly after he was elected.

"It was pretty challenging, I'm not going to kid around that. I think the thing which helped me out was I had a lot of support from my family and from my friends. I received hundreds of messages from people I knew and didn't know," says Uffindell.

Uffindell adds he "has not encountered" any negative comments in Tauranga, despite the controversy surrounding the MP earlier this year.

"About one week after everything broke, I went for a walk around town to test the waters. I was a bit nervous about it, but I was astonished by the amount of people who came up to me and said 'oh Sam, it's great to see you walking about'..."

The Tauranga MP gives his opinion on whether the full bullying investigation report should be released to voters ahead of the next election, and shares how the National Party is working to do a better job on social media.

Uffindell also answers questions on whether the Tauranga electorate will forgive him, why he got started in politics, local traffic frustrations, and shares a Christmas message.

The cancel culture brigade are unbearable. They are outraged at every little thing anyone has ever done. The reality is that it is just a “gotcha” ploy because they cannot tolerate anything or anyone that doesn’t align with their ideology and their drive to control everyone. They think they’re perfect and act virtuous but the majority of us know it’s a front. They do not represent the majority of people, who are tolerant of others even if they don’t agree with them, and are forgiving of mistakes. It’s the wokesters absolute intolerance of others that is causing the division and problems we see in most western democracies. We have seen how they remove elected representatives, control media and attack their political opponents. It’s a drive to achieve one party authoritarian rule and we must fight it. Stay strong Sam and remember, the tolerant majority are supportive.

I assure you Mr Uffindel

You do not represent me in any way and you never will. You should have been removed, Old boy network.
