Starting summer with a splash

The weather played ball on Sunday for the Tauranga Moana Bomb Comp with perfect conditions for cooling off and making a splash!

An impressive turnout of nearly 500 people rocked up to the Tauranga city centre's waterfront, soaking in the balmy weather and cheering on the spectacular bombing action –if they weren't competing themselves.

People of all ages lined the waterfront steps, enjoying free Mr Whippy ice creams and a sausage sizzle put on by the Tauranga City Council. Many also took up the opportunity for a free fade thanks to Faded Barbershop who set up for the day. Eighty people in total competed for ‘Manu Master' - judge Hads Te Huia from Bomblife New Zealand had the tough task of selecting the winners. It's obvious there are plenty of talented ‘bombers' in our community!
