Passed peacefully in Waikato Hospital on Friday 20th May 2022 aged 88 years.

Dearly loved husband of Patricia (dec) and Pat (dec) and great friend Althea (dec). Much loved father and father-in-law of Zoe, Teena, Helen, Paul, Stephen, Pete, Pam, and Tania. Adored grandad of Krysta, David, Casey, Stuart, Emma, Cameron, Andrew, Matthew and Kate.

A much-loved great grandad to Jensen, Dashiell, and Cassian. Proud recipient of a New Zealand Order of Merit for his significant contributions to services to conservation.

In accordance with John's wishes a private cremation has taken place.
