Sentimental parcel missing in Otumoetai

A woman is appealing for any information about a parcel containing sentimental items that has gone missing after it was delivered to a Tauranga address.

According to the sender Sandra, who has asked not to have her last name published, the parcel has been delivered to a property on Grange Road, Otumoetai, on Tuesday, February 8.

She believes it has either been misdelivered or stolen.

Sandra says the intended recipient, John, has not seen any suspicious activity in the area.

The parcel contained sentimental family items such as photos and newspaper clippings, along with photos of her mother who recently passed away.

'We would love to get this back, it contains precious memories we cannot replace,” Sandra says.

SunLive contacted NZ Post to see if they could help with the matter.

'NZ Post is very sorry to hear of an issue regarding a delivery to a Tauranga address,” a spokesperson says.

'From our investigations this appears to be a case of theft after delivery. If a parcel is stolen after NZ Post completes the delivery of the item, the theft becomes a police matter and people need to report the theft to the New Zealand Police.”

If you have any information about where this package could be, or if it was misdelivered to your own address, please contact Sandra on 027 767 0992.

I have heard soo many people with similar stories. Parcels said delivered, people been home and no one coming to their door or mailbox. People even with CCTV and they are still told nzpost delivered it and they are not responsible anymore for it. Nzpost, you have a problem within your workforce. Treat your customers better, with more respect and listen to them. Cudos Sunlive for trying to help these people out.
