A person has died after being hit by a train in the Western Bay of Plenty in the early hours of the morning.
Police say they were called to State Highway 2 in Pukehina at 12.57am.
'A person has been hit by a train and has died,” says a police statement.
'Staff are making inquiries into this incident.”
