QSM (formerly Young), late of Waikanae. Born in Cairo, Egypt on 4th September 1926, died at Tauranga Hospital on 7th October 2021 aged 95 years. Wife of (late) Michael Markman and (late) Alexander Young. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Nicola and Les Adlam (Maketu), Sheelagh and Terry Smith (Perth), Julian Young and Janice (Waipara S.I.) and Adrian (London). Grandma of Mark and Andrew, Elinore and Roald. Great Grandma of Alex, Tamara and Juliette. Genny was a VAD in Cairo where she got her love of Nursing. Trained in London, then worked at Calvary Hospital Wellington and later set up the Waikanae District Nursing post, the position she held until her retirement.
