What‘s on today: Papamoa Surf Club open day

Check out the inside of the club this afternoon.

The Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club is opening its doors to the community today.

From 1.30pm to 5pm, people will have the chance to see the new surf club from inside and out.

"Take a guided tour of our brand new function spaces now available to hire, and learn about all the different parts of the surf club," says a post on the club's Facebook page.

"Guided tours every half hour starting at 1.30pm. Last tour at 4.30pm. 25 people per group.

"Registrations will be open for families interested in joining Junior Surf. Registrations for our new community membership will also be available for those keen on supporting the club and enjoying the stunning beach front facilities throughout the season."

From 2-3pm today, the Ocean Athletes will be in the water, followed by simulated rescues from 3-4pm.

"Junior Surf coaches and nippers will be having fun on the beach throughout the day so come along and join in - and don't miss out on the free sausage sizzle!"
