One person is in a serious condition following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car in Whakatāne.
Emergency services confirm they were alerted to the incident at 3.10pm.
The collision occurred on Hinemoa Street.
'Emergency services are responding after a pedestrian was struck by a car on Hinemoa Street,” says a police spokesperson.
St John confirm they sent two ambulances to the scene and have transported one patient with serious injuries to Whakatāne hospital.
