Armed police are at the scene of an alleged aggravated robbery in Thames.

A police spokesperson says a bar-and-grill in Pollen Street has been targeted in an aggravated robbery this morning.

They say armed police have responded to the incident as a precaution, but the Armed Offenders Squad has not been called.

Newshub reports that no one has been injured in the robbery.

'Police are continuing area enquiries to locate the offender and determine if anything was taken,” says a police spokesperson.

According to the Ministry of Justice, aggravated robbery either involves grievous bodily harm, two or more thieves working together, or a robbery where the offender was armed with a weapon.
