Shedding the bondage of political correctness

I am NOT Politically Correct. There I've said it!
Oh the freedom I feel. Out of the closet at last.
I am now free to show respect to those older than me and to expect respect from those younger. I now feel free enough to request those who ring but have never met me to call me Mr Jessop not my given or Christian name.
I have shed the bondage of political correctness so that I can call things as they are, like, homosexual... lesbian, instead of 'gay”. I use that word to describe a carefree and merry spirit.
I open doors and hold chairs for women, real women thank me , the others glare at me, asking if my 'maleness” now feels secure.
I rejoice in the fact that the battered rag doll called 'democracy” still has a bit of life given glow in its cheeks, although its rather tattered and torn after the last nine years of a socialist government and its bastard child the Green party. I still have the freedom to write what I wish, regardless that anyone would actually want to read the words that flow around my head, through my fingers and onto to computer screen. But then, for how much longer? Democracy is of course, not politically correct.
But most of all, as we fast approach Christmas, I will hold my head up high and wish all and sundry a very Merry Christmas not just a happy holiday. I can worship Him who is a fulfillment of a faith that begins and ends with a miracle.
I actually do not care if it offends those who come into our country under the guise of 'refugees” then set about trying to alter their host country's beliefs into their own. Get over it or leave.
I am angry that those politically correct intelligentsia that say Christianity cannot be taught in schools, yet embrace with open arms our children being subjected to Islam.
Why is it that the one faith that preaches love and freedom, the faith upon which our nation was created and has given strength to men, women and children through the hardships of world wars, poverty and plague.
The One whose life, death and resurrection is the true meaning of Christmas. Not overspending, overeating and overdrinking, has been cast aside for one that is birthed in violence, fear and repression? Islam uses Kalashnikov and C4 explosives to deliver their message of salvation.
Mine? Well mine is delivered by the sacrifice of a truly good man for love. Plain and simple really, and very very non politically correct.
Wayne Jessop, Mt Maunganui.
