Alleged vehicle thief flees from police

Two people have been taken into police custody.

Two people are possibly facing driving related charges following a police pursuit in Tauranga.

The fleeing driver incident unfolded on Pyes Pa Road, near Althorp Ave, at 2.50am, says a police spokesperson.

'It appears the vehicle was stolen.

'Two people were taken into custody.”

Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
