Four people are facing charges after police busted commercial scale methamphetamine labs in the Waikato with the public's help.

Police shut down four labs after targeting five addresses in Matamata, Waharoa and Morrinsville at the weekend.

Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley says police seized methamphetamine and commercial quantities of methamphetamine manufacturing chemicals and equipment.

'Ultimately, we were able to do this due to the resolve of our community who helped us identify this harmful behaviour in their neighbourhoods and came forward to let us know.”

He says the information the public provides police about unusual or suspicious behaviour assists police to build a comprehensive picture about the manufacture, distribution and supply of drugs.

Information can be anything from the comings and goings of vehicles at unusual times to chemical odours or the presence of security and surveillance systems.

Over the coming weeks a 35-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, a 56-year-old man, and a 59-year-old man will all appear in the Hamilton District Court on varying charges including the manufacturing methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine and possession of equipment and materials for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine, and possession of firearms.
