Tauranga City Rate Payers will have their hard earned rate payments wasted because our elected council members and mayor cannot behave themselves and be trusted to function in the roles for which they were elected.
A Review and Observer team has had to be put in place.
Expected costs for the 2020/21 financial year will be up to $350,000, including Review and Observer Team member remuneration, governance executive remuneration, legal costs and any measuring and monitoring tools required.
So the poorly functioning council will continue to function poorly, overseen by a trio of old sages.
The additional costs do not come from the salaries of the councillors but from the pockets of the poor rate payers.
None of the councillors is being held to account for their improper actions. So what will cause them to change their actions and attitudes?
The councillors and mayor should all be stood down (sacked) and a statutory manager appointed to run the council until the next scheduled elections.

.....that these people do not appear to be able to even accept or acknowledge any concern whatsoever in regard to their own ratepayer funded performance. They have indeed morphed into a self absorbed group of individuals with seemingly no city focus whatsoever....if any have any self respect, please address us ratepayers with an explanation, followed by resignations....
