A ruckus in Arataki appears to be the reason behind a large Police presence and a build up of traffic near Bayfair this afternoon.

Police have confirmed that they responded to a disorder incident in the area.

SunLive readers are reporting seeing many Police vehicles near Baywave and Bayfair in Arataki.

One reader reports the presence of groups of college aged youth congregating along Girven Rd.

"Increased police presence," says a reader. "One young girl just walked past my place opposite the physio .... and was yelling ... I've seen about six police cars around Bayfair facility since 1pm this afternoon and yes the traffic is unusually chaotic."

Ten Police cars were reported to be in the area around Baywave about 2pm. There is now a large Police presence reported out the front of the Bayfair Shopping Centre facing Maunganui Rd.

Readers are reporting that there has been a traffic jam forming as a result of the groups of youth forming along the streets in the area.
