One person has been arrested after an alleged stolen vehicle was located in Tauranga today.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotlne reported a large police presence near Maungatapu this afternoon.

"There were about five police cars, including dog units, at a property near State Highway 29a."

A police spokesperson says it appears a stolen vehicle was located on Maungatapu Road about 1pm.

"One person was arrested."
