The 12-year-old reported missing from Mount Maunganui has been found safe and well, says a post on the Bay of Plenty and Taupo Police Facebook page.

Earlier: Police are appealing for any information about a missing 12-year-old girl.

"Annie, aged 12, was reported missing from her Mt Maunganui home overnight," says a post on the Bay of Plenty and Taupo Police Facebook page.

"She was wearing an orange t-shirt with a cat on the front, and faded denim shorts. She's 150cm tall and is of thin/medium build.

"If you've seen Annie, please call 111 and quote file number 200120/3432."
