Police are asking for information from the public to help them locate a Mongrel Mob member.
Laurie Davis was sought during the execution of search warrants last week as the 32-year-old is wanted on a range of charges including burglary.
Police believed the high-profile Mongrel Mob member had been living at a property in Ruatoki.
Eastern Bay of Plenty acting area commander Senior Sergeant Joel Lamb says the man has a history in gangs, violence and drugs, and is known to carry firearms.
'He is considered dangerous so it was critical police showed every caution in attempting to apprehend him.”
Joel says police searched two dwellings on one Ruatoki property and another in Taneatua, but were unsuccessful in locating the man.
'We will continue to actively seek him.”
He says police would like to thank the Ruatoki and Taneatua communities for their support and patience on Friday when the warrants were executed.
'We have been working very closely with these communities in the past two years and particularly since the serious bus crash in Ruatoki last year.
'In relation to this case, we contacted local community leaders both before and after the operation to ensure they were informed about our activities.”
Joel says they will continue to work alongside the Ruatoki community in a joint objective of keeping the community safe
Police are also asking people with information about the man's whereabouts to contact their local police station or leave information anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A photograph would be useful or maybe a description? If I see a mob member walking around with a gun I'll ask him if he's 32 and done any robbing lately.
