While many people were tucked up in their beds early this morning, Tauranga Police officers were responding to various calls.

One was a crash on Te Maire Street in Mount Maunganui at about 1.30am.

A police spokesperson says a car crashed into a pole.

'There were no injuries and was no blocking.”

Another job involved officers responding to a residential address on Fraser Street after it was reported they had been involved in a crash. This was separate to the crash in Mount Maunganui.

'An ambulance transported that person to hospital, however, we don't have any detail on their injuries or the crash itself,” says a police spokesperson.

Police are also investigating a report of someone being assaulted at their home on Queen Street in Te Puke.

Officers were called to the job just before midnight.

'No ambulance was required and the victim advised attending officers they would come to the station to make a full report in the morning.”

… to have Police and emergency services that are tirelessly on the ball. This article made me stop and think about the fact that all too often, we take them for granted.
