Two people were arrested on Friday night following a burglary in Mount Maunganui.

Police report that two offenders entered an address on Oceanbeach Rd and stole some items before escaping in a vehicle.

'Weapons were sighted but we don't have a description of them yet,” says a Police spokesperson.

One person sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Tauranga Hospital.

The offenders were located by another Police unit on McDonald St and were taken into custody.

A 38-year-old man and a 30-year-old man will appear in Tauranga District Court on September 30.
