State Highway 29 expected to be open at 7pm: NZTA

State Highway 29 is expected to be reopened at 7pm tonight following a fatal crash in the Lower Kaimai area.

The two-vehicle crash was reported to Police at 2.20pm, which was located between Omanawa and Ruahihi roads.

The New Zealand Transport Agency advise motorists to delay their journey or to use an alternative route.

'Allow 30 minutes or more extra journey time for the detour.”

The NZTA say the detour route is not suitable for heavy vehicles.

Eastbound traffic are advised to turn left onto Poripori Rd, continue onto Crawford Rd, continue onto Wairoa Rd, Right onto SH2, Right onto Moffat Rd, Right onto Cambridge Rd, Left onto SH29.

Westbound Traffic are advised to turn right onto Cambridge Rd, continue onto Moffat Rd, Left onto SH2, Left onto Wairoa Rd, continue onto Crawford Rd, continue onto Poripori Rd, Right onto SH29.
