Tauranga Police are investigating an incident where a man was found lying on the ground in Merivale overnight.

A police spokesperson says they received a report of man found 'unwell” on Henderson Crescent around 8pm.

'He was taken to hospital.

'Police are making enquiries to establish how he came to be in that condition.”

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline this morning says the man was 'unresponsive when emergency services took him to hospital”.
