Whakatane's Mark Andrew Barnfield man is the 42-year-old who died in a collision with a train at the weekend.
At about 5.25pm on Saturday Mark was struck and killed by a northbound train about 500 metres north of the Ohakune Railway Station.
Emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The matter is referred to the Coroner.
