Two arrested in relation to Kawaha Point robbery

Rotorua Police have arrested two men in relation to the aggravated robbery at Kawaha Point Superette on Tuesday March 19.

The two men entered the Supperette at around 1.45pm with a firearm and demanded money.

An amount of cash and cigarettes were taken.

The accused, aged 18 and 19, were arrested this morning following a search warrant.

A police spokesperson says they have been charged with aggravated robbery.

'They are due to appear in Rotorua District Court tomorrow, Wednesday March 27.

'Police have recovered the firearm thought to have been used in the robbery.

'No one else is sought in relation to the incident and police would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
