A man is in a serious but stable condition in Tauranga Hospital this morning after being stabbed in Katikati.

Police were called to what police say is a family harm incident at 7.30pm.

'A man was stabbed in the neck and chest about 7.30pm on Talisman Drive.

'The victim is now in Tauranga hospital in a serious but stable condition.

'The offender (also a man) is known to the victim in this matter and Waikato CIB are investigating the incident.”

Inquiries are ongoing.
