A man is due to appear in Rotorua District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 56-year-old man was located in Napier on Thursday.

He has been arrested in relation to the death of 69-year-old Trevor Rikihana.

'Enquiries into the death of Mr Rikihana are continuing and it is likely that more serious charges will be laid in due course,” says a police spokesperson.

Trevor died in the early hours Wednesday January 30.

As part of inquiries into the death, an address in Reeve Road, Owhata was examined by police, says Detective Inspector Mark Loper.

'Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Reeve Road and Brent Roads in the early hours of Wednesday morning, who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual.”
