Zack Mutton, one of the up and coming Canoe Slalom athletes, had his custom made Galasport Slalom Kayak stolen from Okere Falls at the bottom of Trout Pool Road on Friday.

Fellow athlete Mike Dawson posted to his Facebook page about the theft, appealing for any informaition about the stolen canoe.

"If anyone saw this today it would be amazing to get it back. These guys have the first race of Olympic selection next weekend and these boats come from Czech Republic. Flick me a message if you've seen it," says Mike's post.

If you have any information about the kayak, either message Mike on Facebook or contact your nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can also be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
