$130k stolen property recovered

Police executed a number of search warrants over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

More than $130,000 worth of property has been recovered by police.

While most people were on holiday, the Waikato Tactical Crime Unit executed a Search Warrant in relation to a large number of Commercial Burglaries across the Eastern Waikato.

'More than $130k worth of property was recovered which were linked to at least 12 burglaries,” says a post on the Waikato Police Facebook page.

'One male has been arrested and is facing a number of charges in relation to this.

One of the victims (a Whangamata builder) was pleased to be reunited with more than $8000 in property.”

If people see any suspicious activity in their area, they are urged to report it immediately either by contacting their nearest police station or calling 111 if it's an emergency.

Alternatively, information can also be given anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
