A diver reported missing near Maketu has been found.
Emergency services launched an extensive search off the coast of Maketu following reports of an overdue diver.
A police spokesperson says they were called by a concerned person at 5.51pm, when the diver failed to surface.
A search and rescue operation was launched with the help of police, surf lifesaving, coastguard and search and rescue teams.
'A rescue helicopter was deployed and they used that to search and they found him offshore and helicoptered him back in,” says police.
