A 40ft launch that lost power while navigating Tauranga Harbour entrance on Saturday night was towed in by the Coastguard.
The launch was believed to be returning to port when it suffered a mechanical problem, says Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard operations manager Simon Barker.
He believes the boat was able to anchor until a Coastguard vessel arrived to tow it back to its berth.
