A boat has gone missing off Flaxmill Bay in Whitianga.

The owner's neighbour Bruce Philpott says the boat went missing off Flaxmill Bay mooring sometime after 9pm on Christmas Day.

The boat is a six metre McLay Hardtop with 130 hp Yamaha 4 Stroke, painted blue, and has the name "La Fin" written on the side of it.

'The Whitianga Coastguard advise that the boat is likely to be drifting North East, so could now be well offshore,” says Bruce.
