Western Bay B Grade Final Shootout

A winner take-all shootout will decide the Western Bay of Plenty B Grade first round title on Saturday.

The two top teams Greerton and Papamoa Wanderers square off in the last round at Waipuna Park.

Greerton, who sit at the top of the standings by six points from Papamoa Wanderers, will win back-to-back titles if the defeat the Papamoa side. But if Wanderers get up they will equal Greerton on points and take the title.

Greerton are unbeaten with Wanderers suffering just one loss. Both teams have game winners who are at the top of the batting and bowling stats.

Greerton's Ravinder Mahal tops the battings stakes with 307 runs and a highest score of 113, while Papamoa bowler Chris Uden heads the wicket tally with 13 including a best of 6-12.

Final finishing positions will be determined by Singh CC verses Albion, Tauranga Boys' College against Cadets, Grasshoppers meeting Mount Maunganui and the Papamoa derby between Tangaroa and Papamoa A at Gordon Spratt Reserve.

Meanwhile in Reserve Grade, front-runners Singh CC will want to put last Sunday's McNaughton Trophy defeat to the Papamoa combined team behind them when they play Mount Maunganui at Blake Park.

Defending Reserve Grade champions Te Puke are in third place and take on Greerton Sikh team to cement their top four spot, while Greerton play Aquinas College and R&A Sangha square off with Cadets.
