Police have closed a section of Tongariro Street, Taupo, due to a fire at commercial building in the early hours of this morning.
The closure extends from Heuheu Street to Tamamutu Street.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, says a police spokesperson.
"The fire was reported around 1.20am.
"Police, fire and ambulance are in attendance."
