YouTube experiencing outage world wide

UPDATE 4.02pm: YouTube is back up and running after users around the world reported having issues with the site.

More than 2,000 reports were made during the time the site was down.

Team YouTube has tweeted saying the site is back up and running.

"Thanks for all of your patience. If you continue to experience issues, please let us know."

Users of YouTube around the world are reporting to have issues with the site.

Content creators of the site have already taken to twitter to says they are experiencing problems.

Team YouTube, who tweets updates, troubleshooting tips and help about the site have tweeted saying:

'Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We're working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.”

A live YouTube outage map shows the most affected areas are across the US and South America.

According to Down Detector, the outage started at around 2.16pm.

There are also reports that Facebook is down for some users across Australia and New Zealand.
