Picking up from where they left off at the ONE Warrior Series 2 event last July, New Zealand-raised mixed martial artists Mark 'Fairtex” Abelardo and Punnya Sai were impressive yet again, as they both scored quick victories at ONE Warrior Series 3 last Thursday in Singapore.

The third event from Rich Franklin's ONE Warrior Series documentary show was a 15-bout card that featured a mix of both up-and-coming and experienced mixed martial artists from all over the world, all hoping to break through into the ONE Championship roster and earn a contract in excess of USD$100,000.

Myanmar-born Kiwi Punnya Sai brought the excitement early in the card as he made quick work of Nepalese Nepalese rival Krishna Lal Tamang, ending their bantamweight bout with a TKO in just fourteen seconds.

The Bali MMA-trained up-and-comer is coming off a first-round submission win over Sai Nyan Lin at ONE Warrior Series 2.

This time around, the 19-year old Sai showcased his remarkable stand-up skills, connecting with a heavy low kick that took Tamang off his balance. He then finished the job with a blistering flurry of strikes that his Nepalese counterpart simply had no answer for.

It was another impressive showing for the young Sai, who looks to finally get his opportunity on the ONE Championship stage.

Also picking up his second victory on ONE Warrior Series is Kiwi-Filipino Mark Fairtex Abelardo, who defeated Mongolian striker Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg via TKO after the first round.

Competing out of the famed Fairtex Gym in Thailand, Abelardo was fresh off a three-round unanimous decision victory over Ali Motamed in a contest that was hailed as match of the night-worthy.

Beaming with confidence, it was the taller and rangier Zoltsetseg who came out strong in the early moments of the first round and gave Abelardo some trouble early on with his crisp striking and aggression.

A veteran of over 20 professional mixed martial arts contests, Abelardo remained composed however, and landed a perfectly-timed takedown to put his Mongolian adversary on the ground.

From there, Abelardo imposed his will as he postured up and punished Zoltsetseg with thunderous ground-and-pound that resulted in a cut which forced the referee to wave the bout off in between rounds.

The 26-year old Abelardo makes it two-for-two on the ONE Warrior Series stage as he looks to earn a highly-coveted spot on the ONE Championship roster.
