The Mauao base track will be partially closed next week for the removal of pest vegetation.
The work will begin Monday 24 September and, weather permitting, should be completed before the weekend, says a Tauranga City Council communications advisor.
"It is a part of the ongoing process of restoring the korowai (cloak) of Mauao.
"The closure will affect the Pilot Bay side of the base track. All other tracks will remain open during this time."
Signage, barriers and security will be in place on site.
