Fans to line-up for Stars Under The Stars tickets

Neil Diamond and Fleetwood Mac music fans will take centre stage at Baycourt tomorrow when tickets go on sale for the first Stars Under the Stars concert in four years.

The highly-anticipated outdoor concert's return on December 9 at Classic Flyers will see the limited 3000 tickets go on sale over the Baycourt counter at 9am.

For the first two days of sales (September 4 and 5), tickets will only be available at Baycourt Ticketek. Tickets will then be released online and over the phone.

The two-day in-person ticket sale gives locals the chance to jump the online queues and secure their tickets before going on sale to the rest of the nation.

Concert promoter Craig Wilson, of Premium Entertainment, is expecting tickets to be in hot demand with one of Australia's biggest tribute acts The Neil Diamond Superhits Show and 2016 Variety Artists Club of New Zealand Benny Awards ‘Top Group' Dreams - The Fleetwood Mac Experience both taking to the stage.

'The Neil Diamond Superhits Show is critically acclaimed throughout Australasia and for good reason where we sold 5000 tickets to the 2007 Stars Under The Stars concert in just nine days.

'We are expecting a similar fantastic response this time.”

Now in his 25th year on the Australian and international touring circuit, performer Steve Cummins has been described by the president of the Neil Diamond fan club in Australia as the only performer to have mastered the feel of Neil's music.

Kiwi tribute band Dreams - The Fleetwood Mac Experience, one of New Zealand's most celebrated tribute acts, is regarded as expertly evoking the smooth rock days of the ‘70s and ‘80s when when Fleetwood Mac released hit after hit.

'Both are not only award-winning performances but crowd favourites, so we are delighted to have them return to Tauranga,” says Craig.

'Such a line-up highlights the appeal Stars Under The Stars and the Bay of Plenty holds. It promises to be a wonderful night.”

Craig says initial public feedback and the buzz around town reinforces his decision to bring the outdoor concert back to Tauranga's summer calendar of events after a four year hiatus.

'Since announcing the concert's return we have been inundated with excited fans of both the concert and the performers wanting to secure their tickets,” explains Craig.

'We are extremely grateful for this support and are working hard to build on the success of previous Stars Under The Stars outdoor concerts and add to the city's vibrant summer of events.”

Since small beginnings at its inaugural show in 2003, Craig has grown the Stars Under The Stars' brand to annual sell-out events.

Previous years have featured a mix of original artists (including CCR, The Hollies, Glenn Shorrock, Golden Kiwis, The Ladykillers), and tribute acts for Cher, Rod Stewart, Elton John and others.

The 2018 Stars Under The Stars at Classic Flyers is on Sunday 9 December from 6pm-10pm, with gates opening from 4pm.
