Some residents in the Te Puke area are without power this afternoon.

A total of 154 properties have been affected by the outage.

According to the Powerco website, the power cut was reported just after 2.10pm.

It's estimated that power will be restored to the area just after 7pm.

The cause of the outage is not yet known.

Meanwhile, up in the Coromandel area people are being advised to avoid Hauraki Road.

According to a post on the Thames/Coromandel Grapevine Facebook page, a big truck has just taken out a "heap of lines".
