A man needed emergency surgery after injuring his hand in a drop-saw accident.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at 1pm on Tuesday to transport a 30-year-old from Tauranga Hospital to Waikato Hospital.

'The man required emergency surgery to his hand after an accident with a drop-saw,” says a spokesperson for the rescue helicopter.

'The man was flown directly on a rapid response flight.”

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was also tasked to transport a patient to Waikato Hospital on Sunday.

'A 40-year-old Mt Maunganui man required specialist treatment due to a serious cardiac condition.”
